Nail varnish of the week

I am a big fan of Essie's nail varnish range, however I don't own many due to them originally being a US brand. But, all hail Selfridges for introducing them to the UK! Selfridges have now started to stock a wide variety of Essie's nail colours, meaning us Brits' can get our mitts on them too. I chose this colour for my, first ever, nail of the week, it's Mint Candy Apple by Essie. This varnish is currently available at Selfridges (in store and online). The colour is absolutely beautiful! I am planning on wearing this varnish for my entire holiday, to try and make my tan look even darker! (ha, cheat) Even more importantly, Essie does not come with a unbearable price tag (maybe not as cheap as Barry M). For just £9.95 you can get your hands on a pot of your very own varnish. From my own previous, and personal, experience with Essie's range I can tell you that they last around a week, before chipping (I do base coat and top coat), which is a real difference to two days with a Barry M nail varnish. Also, the fun doesnt just stop there, Essie have thousands of nail colours and treatments on there US store. Check their website out here.

Festival Lust-haves, Must-haves and Will-haves...

It wasn't until I was inspired to do this post that I realised how much of a festival junky I am. In total I have been to 14 festivals, some not as 'cool' as others, but tomatoe - tomato.
Anyway, my father was a V Festival addict in it's (and his) day. When I was 8, my father felt that I was ready to experience this crazy stuff and dragged me along, although, the most I can remember about this experience was a creche around the back of one of the stages where there was the smallest ball pit on the planet (more like a paddling pool filled with plastic/popped balls) and some sweets. Yes, my Dad and co. had dumped in me in a creche, whilst they drank their body weight in beer. Anyway, I must get back to something a little more exciting.
So yes, I am a self-confessed festival junky and for the first year, since I was 8 years of age, I will not be attending a festival in 2011! (boo). So in attempt to fix my yearly cravings, I have put together a post (and two outfits) to show you what my idea of 'festival gear is'.

Cape | Suede Shorts | Belt Bag - Topshop
Pearl/Gold Two Finger Ring - ASOS

I absolutely love this outfit. I am not at all a daring person when it comes to clothing, infact ever (unless it's my nails) and I feel that this little orange belt bag gives it that perfect pop for someone who's a little shy. Plus, it's perfect for keeping all of your money and phone safe! The cape is perfect for that festival belly. With all the food, alcohol and fizzy pop that you cram down you in that place, people would think that you have never seen food before, it's crazy! So this 'back-to-front' cape would look lush over a vest to cover up that bloated gut. I haven't chosen the shorts for any reason other than them being insanely (is that a word?) cute! I assume that they are high-waisted, which is an added bonus - this means, if it gets too hot for the cape, you can take it off and tuck your vest into them!

T-Shirt and Sunglasses - Topshop
Striped Shorts - ASOS

Okay, so let's set the scene of the morning of day two. You've just woken up. Your tent is so hot you feel like you've woken up in a cocoon. Your hungover. You've got last nights make up on and your belly is 'working' the pregnant affect. If you had the choice, you would wear your pyjamas for today's bands. But stop! This is one of the biggest fashion events... ever! (After Fashion Week events) You must get dressed. This is perfect, the loose top hides any belly that was not there before you passed out and the shorts give you comfy and chic in one. But, those sunglasses will be your best friend today! Sunglasses are THE ultimate festival essential. Not only do they instantly 'glam' up an outfit, they stop every other festival go-er from being blinded from the red glow around your eyes this morning.

You may have noticed, I have not included any shoes. This is because I feel too bad on my Hunters to try and pretend I would wear anything else. They are THE best wellies in the world and I have worn them to V' for 4 years now. If you can, I would invest in a pair for your festival trip, they are a-mazing.
